Private Teaching, Workshops, and Support for Writers
Our Team
All classes are taught by Rachel Stowe, a multi-state certified teacher with over 12 years of classroom teaching experience, including educating exceptional learners. Rachel holds a Bachelor's Degree in Inclusive Childhood Education and English from Houghton University, and a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing from Lindenwood University. When Rachel isn't teaching, she enjoys participating in local community theatre, knitting, and spending time with her pets.
About Us
Sage & Story Literary Services is dedicated to helping individuals improve their ability to communicate through the power of storytelling. Our approach is rooted in the appreciation of storytelling as an uniquely human art and an understanding of the underlying structure of those stories. We believe that by mastering the art of storytelling, individuals can enhance their communication skills and connect with others on a deeper level.
“Writing is an art, but it's also a craft. Rachel understands that there is a formula to writing, and I have full confidence that she can teach it to you!"
Cilla M., Former Colleague
"Rachel is the best teacher I have ever had. She made school a fun, engaging, and positive experience for me and cultivated a safe and supportive classroom. Rachel applied an individualistic approach to teaching, spending extra time with us, modifying lessons, and using our interests during class. She is a very patient and encouraging teacher, passionate about helping her students succeed. What sets her apart from most educators is how much she cares about us. I trusted and confided in her and feel so fortunate to have had such a dedicated, kind, and diligent educator like Rachel."
Emily M., Former Student
"I cannot recommend Rachel Stowe highly enough! She has been an invaluable resource throughout my college journey, helping me proofread my papers for grammar, word usage, and clarity. Her sharp eye for detail and thoughtful feedback made a huge difference in the quality of my work.

Beyond her incredible skills, Rachel brings a wonderful small-town charm and a warm, personal touch to every interaction. She truly cares about her clients and takes the time to provide a one-on-one experience that feels both professional and supportive.

As Rachel starts her own business in tutoring, writing, and proofreading, I have no doubt she’ll continue to help others succeed just as she helped me. If you’re looking for someone smart, kind, and dedicated to your success, she’s the one to go to!"
Heidi vK., Editing Client
“I am currently a children’s pastor at my church and the fundamentals that [Rachel] taught me for digesting a narrative and asking insightful questions has been crucial in how I now teach kids. [She]’d be proud of how many books I’ve had with sticky notes coming out everywhere :)”
